Awards Day!

It's fast approaching... the last day of school! I think we have six and a school days remaining! My firsties and I are sooo ready for summer!!!

Next week we are having a little Awards Assembly in our classroom. We will have the usual awards (honor roll, perfect attendance....) but I also wanted to add in a few more for a couple things my kiddos have worked really hard on this year.

First, is accelerated reader. My kids read a lot and we have quarterly goals for AR. This quarter no one made their goal!! We had soo much going on that they just weren't focused :( I am not upset though, and I hope they won't be either, once they get one of these fun AR awards next week.

We also use a very awesome math website, IXL. The kids can log on at school and home and complete math problems that are grade specific. Sometimes I would assign specific problems for homework-depending on what we were studying, other times they get to choose what topics to do. This site is not free but has so many capabilities, it is pretty awesome!!
Anyway, I am giving math awards for IXL too.

These awards are posted for free in my TPT store! Click the pictures above for the link :)

Happy Teacher, Happy Learning!

Yay for Teacher Appreciation Week! It always feels good to feel appreciated... it doesn't hurt that today marks 14.5 days remaining in the school year! We started our 20 day countdown last week during SAT 10... there's one way to celebrate testing... lol

Last year I hung balloons from the ceiling and we popped one everyday to get our countdown on... But, this year, I can't hang stuff from my ceiling. (It has kinda been a bummer all year!) I still wanted to countdown with balloons so my team-mate and I decided to hang the balloons in between our classrooms and countdown together.

We are having so much fun doing this-- and the kids love it!

It is hard to keep it interesting at this point in the year, but check out this cute activity we did last week...

We were reading the story "Cool Jobs" in our reading series so we completed job applications about what we wanted to be when we grew up. They were adorable! You can check out this fun stuff from the "Cool Jobs" packet out of my Treasures supplements:

I am still working on finishing up Unit 6 in Treasures. Then I am going to go back and get Unit 1 completed for next year. You can get a deal if you shop this week.

Big sale! Click the sale button to visit my TPT page.

Also, I have 30% off all items on Teacher's Notebook.

Have a happy teacher week!

Quick Little Freebie!

Yes, blogworld, I am here.

I am sooo close to the end of my masters- then you will see much much more of me! I swear!

My little firsties are getting their fill of me though- I am prepping them this week for SAT 10 next week! Not my favorite week of the year but Monday will begin my 20 day countdown... so it's not too bad! *Promise to post more about that this weekend! *

Anyway, we are learning all about plants this week while doing our test prep and I put together this really simple freebie to practice plant facts and opinions. It is a cut/paste activity that can help you review facts and opinions about plants.

This is the answer key.
This is so totally not fancy- just a quicky before I go to bed :) Click the picture for a dropbox download!

I so promise to update y'all with pictures and words in the coming weekend and weeks!

Now, ready for sleep!
